The Mom Series: Sitter Sessions

The Mom Series: Sitter Sessions

Today’s post we are going to talk about Sitter Sessions! You may be wondering, what is a sitter session? Around 8 or 9 months, whenever your little bundle of joy is able to sit unassisted for a few minutes at a time, we take photos of your child in front of a theme of your choosing. Sitter sessions are fantastic because the child is pretty still since their just getting used to sitting up. They don’t know about running laps around the room.

Speaking of running laps, this is why sitter sessions are a fun way for me to capture your child’s new smile, laugh, and personality without trying to catch them or make them sit still.

Now that they can support themselves upright, you also now have an opportunity to capture your child in that super cute outfit!

Second, when compared to newborn sessions, sitter sessions are super quick!  A newborn session can take up to 3 hours. But a sitter session can be wrapped up in anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Also, babies at this stage of development are not nearly as shy around strangers (or photographers) as many toddlers can be. This allows your photographer to get those breathtaking photos of your baby’s big eyes, button nose and curly toes.

In this post, you will find a fun little “ Bear in the Woods” themed Sitter Session I did for my son Henry. I finished his sitter session in about 15 minutes. He was so easy to photograph! Plus he started this new way of smiling that about knocked me out of my socks.
